Kim Fagerlund: Family Support Worker
Kim facilitates an organized Drop-in program on Monday mornings, as well as Parent Education Group on Thursday evenings.
She has a degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria and has almost completed a certificate in Family Mediation from the Justice Institute of B.C.
Having raised four children as a single parent, Kim knows first hand the struggles single parents face. Now a grandmother, Kim believes that grandparents can improve the lives of children and grandchildren definitely improve the lives of grandparents.
Kim wants to increase parent's understanding of child development, help improve skills, support parents to balance their responsibilities at home, work and in the community and help them build a strong supportive network.
Most importantly, Kim wants to find ways to nurture the parent as well as the child.
“My goal is to reduce the stress parents feel and increase the joys of parenting”.
